| Free technical support is provided via email
to all registered users of the M2Assistant. If you have a question
or problem, just contact us at support@calido.com.
In some cases, we may require a copy of your EMME/2 database to
further assist you. In this event, we will give you an FTP location
to upload a zipped copy of the database such that we can better
diagnose any problems. |

We've added a function editor, so you may now add, edit or
delete any EMME/2 function expression. And, this latest
version also includes features to create or copy EMME/2
databases (and even modify the dimensions of your database),
as well as to create, copy or delete scenarios and extra
attributes.
Bug Fixes
- a bug which may restricted the use of databases greater
than 2.5GB has been fixed
- a link editor bug which may have resulted in an EMME/2
message about invalid link modes is fixed.
-improved error checking when adding or modifying network
attributes
- database switch settings now work as expected. |

New Features
New shortest path layer where you can now display the shortest
path between one or more nodes. Expressions are used to define
the link and turn costs used to determine the minimum path
cost. See our Web Help
for
more information about the path layer.
Bug Fixes
- Chart series now correctly display the scenario from
which the data is drawn.
- Transit line plots with stops improved.
- Picture translation improved when the aspect ratio checkbox
is not set.

M2Assistant FAQ's
|
|
Why should I use the M2Assistant?
If you use EMME/2 on
a regular basis, then you'll also want to use the M2Assistant. With the M2Assistant, each part of
an EMME/2 database can be viewed and edited in a format
similar to a spreadsheet.
You can plot the network, create thematic maps, uses
a macro and transcript editor with syntax high-lighting, send data directly to Excel, and
much, much more.
We've designed the M2Assistant to make EMME/2
friendlier and easier to use.
|
|
Which release of EMME/2 does
the M2Assistant work with?
The M2Assistant works with either EMME/2
Release 7, 8 and 9.
|
|
Are there any new features in the latest minor updates?
Yes, in v3.1 we've added a new path network plot layer.
The path layer shows the shortest path between one or more nodes. You
define the link and turn costs that are used to calculate the shortest
path.
And in v3.2, we added the ability to define and
plot curved links. A great feature to more realistically illustrate
networks.
And in this latest version, we've included a function
editor as well as the ability to create or copy EMME/2 databases, modify
the dimensions of your database (even increase the number of zones or
centroids), as well as the ability to create, modify or delete scenarios
and extra attributes.
See our web help
for more
information about these new features.
|
|
What is new in Version 3.0 of M2Assistant?
Lots! The best way to quickly see all of the features is
to read our on-line
documentation or help. New features include: turns, legends and
transit lines are now plotted directly on the network, you can magnify an
area of the network by clicking and holding the right mouse button, we've
introduced a powerful batch print feature, a new layer has been introduced
to add cosmetic objects (labels, lines, rectangles, and ellipses) to the
network so you can highlight areas of the network....and much more!
|
|
Can the network plot left-hand drive as well as
right-hand drive roadways?
Yes! Both network and turn plots can be plotted
using either left or right hand drives.
|
|
What about language options?
With M2Assistant, you may customize all captions,
prompts and hints to your language or preference.
|
|
Do you need a hardware lock to
use the M2Assistant?
No. The M2Assistant can be used on any
computer which has Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and at least 32MB of RAM. The
registered version of M2Assistant uses a software registration
key system.
|
|
Can I use the M2Assistant without
using the EMME/2 program?
Yes you can, but the M2Assistant is designed to
complement EMME/2 not replace it. With the M2Assistant, you cannot prepare scenarios for assignments or perform
assignments. However, the M2Assistant makes EMME/2 much easier and more
powerful and has many extra features not found in EMME/2.
|
|
Is the M2Assistant supported by INRO, the developers of EMME/2?
No. The M2Assistant was developed solely by
Calido Software. And we have been active users of the EMME/2 program for the
past 18 years. As the M2Assistant works directly with your EMME/2
database,
INRO cannot be held responsible for, or provide assistance with, any
changes made to your EMME/2 database as a result of your use of the M2Assistant.
|
|
Does the M2Assistant work with
batch files or directly with the EMME/2 database?
The M2Assistant is one of the first add-ons
to the EMME/2 program which works directly with an EMME/2 database. It
does not use batchin or batchout text files to view, edit or plot a
network.
|
|
What if I don't want the M2Assistant to make changes to my databank?
Just set the Protect checkbox on the
status bar at the bottom of the screen. With this check box set, M2Assistant cannot make any changes to your EMME/2
database.
|
|
Can I run EMME/2 or ENIF from the M2Assistant?
Yes. As long as you have configured the M2Assistant EMME/2
settings correctly then the M2Assistant can
run the EMME/2 programs EMTOOLW and EMTOOLWN.
|
|
Can I create and edit my EMME/2 macros with the MAssistant?
Yes, in fact the M2Assistant makes it much easier to work with
your EMME/2 macros. The macro editor permits you to have an unlimited
number of macros open at the same time. And, the editor has
syntax-highlighting, which makes it much easier to work with
macros.
|
|
Where can I order the M2Assistant?
Right here.
