Colors and Color Legends

An EMME/2 network element (node, link, etc.) can be set to a certain color depending on the result of a Color Expression. If a Color Expression is defined, then a color legend can be displayed for the selected layer if the Use Color Expression checkbox has been set for one of the border/line or fill properties.

In this example, a color legend is displayed for nodes where the node color expression is "[initial boardings] inboa". First, select the node layer, click the Properties button, select the Color tab and enter "[initial boardings] inboa" as the Color Expression. Click the Calculate Ranges to calculate the minimum and maximum values, set the Round By value to 100, and click the Label Ranges button to set the labels beside each of the four ranges.

Then, select the Color Legend tab and enter a title for the legend. You may also include a wildcard in the title. You can position the legend in one of six positions; the none, top-left, top-right, bottom-left or bottom-right of the print box, or free-floating on the plot. A legend is free-floating if you drag the legend to another part of the network plot.  If none is selected, then the legend is not displayed.

The result is a plot that should look something like this.
