Plot layers

A layer represents a type of drawing to be plotted and is analagous to overlays in traditional drafting. Layers can be visible or hidden, just by setting the checkbox beside the layer name in the list of layers.

Each EMME/2 network object (centroids, nodes, links, turns, transit lines, segments and segment nodes) are each drawn on their own layer. Special M2Assistant layers include matrices, grids, zones, screenlines, paths and cosmetic objects.

Additional layers include EMME/2 plot annotations and GIS files such as MapInfo MIF or ESRI shape (SHP) files, bitmap (BMP) graphic files and JPG graphic files.

Layers are superimposed on each other in the order shown in the list of layers. You may change the order by dragging the layer to a new position. Each layer has its own drawing properties, such as label font, line color, line style, line width, fill color and fill style.  Click the Properties button on the Plot Toolbar to show and set the properties for the selected layer.
