Matrix (desire line) layers
A matrix layer shows the values of a full matrix on the network plot, in the form of desire lines. To display matrix values, first select the matrix to be displayed from the list of mf matrices.. In this example, mf01 is used. Then, select the origin and destination zones to be included in the desire line. Do this by clicking the origin zone number or destination zone number. You may select more than one origin or destination zone by clicking more column or row headings. Unselect an origin or destination zone by clicking the column or row heading again. Keep in mind that the more origins and/or destinations selected, the more desire lines are displayed and the plot can become cluttered. You may also choose an origin or destination ensemble to further aggregate the desire lines.

Note that each of the origin zones and destination zones are highlighted. This was done by clicking each column and row heading. If only the origin groups are selected, then the desire lines will display trips from the origin group to the destination group. Similarly, if only the destination groups are selected, the desire lines display trips from the destination to the origin. If both origin and destination groups are selected (as in this example), then two-way trips are displayed.
