Zone layer

The zone layer displays the selected centroid, node, link or transit segment layer value by accumulating the value to the relevant transportation zone.

If link or segment  is selected, then the zone value is based on the length of each link within each zone. The zone value units are therefore shown as value*length where value is the result of the value expression and length is the length of the link that falls within the boundaries of the zone. The link length is calculated based on the link length defined in EMME/2, not the X and Y coordinates of I and J nodes of the link. For example, if the zone value is based on the auto volume (volau) on the links, then the zone value units would be vehicle-km (or vehicle-miles). There is one exception, which is if the link length is the selected layer attribute. In this case, only the sum of the link length is calculated as the zone value.

In this example, the zone value is calculated from the link value expression volau.

For centroids, the zone value is the same as the result of the centroid value expression. For nodes, the zone value is calculated by aggregating the node value expression results to the zone in which the node is located.

In this example, the zone values are calculated from matrix mo01
