Grid layer
A grid layer displays the results of any centroid, node, link or transit segment value expression by accumulating the value expression result to an arbitrary grid cell. This feature is based on the original GRTOOL that can be found on the INRO website.
For links and transit segments, a grid cell value is based on the length of each link within each grid cell. The grid cell value units are therefore shown as value*length where value is the result of the value expression and length is the length of the link which falls within the boundaries of the grid cell. For example, if the grid value is based on the auto volume (volau) on the links, then the grid value units would be vehicle-km (or vehicle-miles).
For centroids or nodes, the grid cell value units are the same as those for the centroid or node value expression.
