Screenline layer

The Screenline layer calculates the results of any link or transit segment value expression across one or more imaginary lines. You may define an unlimited number of screenlines for an EMME/2 database.

When you click a screenline, the results for the selected screenline are displayed in the Layer Data section below the plot. The I-node and J-node of each link that the screenline crosses is displayed as well as the result of the link or segment value expression. You may also enter a link description (such as the road name). This description is saved to a text file named M2Screenline.dat, located in the same folder as the EMME/2 database. The link description will remain associated with the specific link as long as the I-node and J-node of the link remains the same.

You may send the results of the selected screenline directly to Excel by clicking the Excel button.

You may also copy the results of a screenline to one of the three link user attributes (UL1, UL2 or UL3). To copy a screenline results to one of these attributes, right-click the screenline data and choose the Copy To ULx menu. Upon confirmation, the screenline results are copied to the selected link user attribute.

Screenline points are maintained in a file named M2Screenline.m2a. When you first open an EMME/2 database, a screenline file is created in the same folder as the database. There is one screenline file for each EMME/2 database and the file format of a screenline file is the same as an ESRI shape file.
