With M2Assistant, you may also view bitmap (*.bmp) or JPG (*.jpg) graphic files. In this way, additional detail can be plotted as a background to the EMME/2 network.

To add and view a picture file, right-click the layers in the list of layers on the left and choose the Add Layer.. menu option. Then, choose the type of file (*.jpg, *.bmp) and open the file. The picture file is added to the layer list.

You can drag the new layer to the top of the list if you wish all other layers to be plotted on top of it.

You may then reposition and resize the picture. To do this, click the Properties button and enter the Left, Bottom, Width and Height of the picture. You may either enter these values manually, or you can click the picture to select it and then drag the picture (or size it by dragging one of its handles) until you are satisfied with the position of the picture.

M2Assistant can also calculate the position of the picture by setting equivalent coordinates.
